THE OCCAM LAB PTE LTD (“Occam Lab”) is committed to implementing policies, practices and processes to safeguard the collection, use and disclosure of the personal data, incompliance with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

We have developed this Privacy Policy to assist you in understanding what information we collect from you, how we collect, use, disclose, process, protect and retain your information when you engage us to provide our products and services to you, or enquire about our products and services.

Application of this Privacy Policy

  • This Privacy Policy concerns our customers and users of our websites.
  • Under the PDPA, business contact information (name, company name, business email, business contact number) is not considered as personal data so long as it is used strictly for business-to-business (B2B) transactions.

What Information We Collect and When

We collect information you voluntarily provide to us, such as your name, job title, company name, company address, phone number, and email address, when you inquire about our services via email, phone, or through our website. This information is used solely for business-to-business (B2B) purposes.

If you visit our premises, your image may be recorded by our CCTV system for security reasons.

Our corporate and event websites use cookies to enhance your user experience. Essential cookies are stored on your browser as they are necessary for the basic functionality of the site. We also use third-party cookies to analyse site usage, track your preferences, and measure traffic. By clicking “Accept” on our cookie banner, you agree to the use of cookies.  

You have choices regarding our collection, use and/or disclosure of your information. You have the right to object to any of our collection, use and/or processing by writing to our Data Protection Officer (DPO) at the email address below. Upon receipt of your objection, we will notify you of the consequences of us acceding to the same, including any effects it may have in fulfilling our provision of products and services to you. We seek to address objections, complaints or feedback relating to your choices within 10 business days. Should we require more time, we will inform you of the time frame by which we can fully address your objections or requests.

  • To any 3rd party service providers that we need to engage to fulfil our provision of products and services to you
  • To any cloud platform that we are using to store our company data, and to communicate with you

Where required to do so by law, we may disclose the information about you to the relevant authorities or to law enforcement agencies.

Withdrawal of Consent, Access and Correction

If you wish to withdraw your consent or request access to or correction of your personal information, please contact our Data Protection Officer (DPO) at the email address below. If the request is related to personal data collected under the control of another organisation, we will advise you to contact the appropriate Data Protection Officer of that organisation.

Please note that withdrawing your consent for purposes essential to fulfilling our contractual obligations or providing our services may have consequences. We will review your request and inform you of any implications before proceeding. We aim to process your withdrawal request within 10 business days after verifying your identity. If we require additional time, we will notify you of when we expect to fully address your request.

For access and correction requests, we strive to process them within 30 calendar days after verifying your identity. If additional time is needed, we will inform you of the expected timeframe for completing your request. Please be aware that an administrative fee may be charged for processing your request to access your personal information, and we will notify you of any applicable fee in advance.

How We Ensure the Accuracy

We will take reasonable measures to ensure that the personal information we collect about you is accurate, complete, not misleading, and kept up to date, based on its intended use. Whenever possible, we will validate the information you provide using widely accepted practices and guidelines. If we have an ongoing relationship with you, it is important that you inform us of any changes to your information.

We implement comprehensive administrative, physical, technical, and organisational security measures to safeguard your personal information from loss and to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification, regardless of its format. Additionally, we have established effective organisational practices to uphold the confidentiality and integrity of your information, sharing it only with authorized personnel on a strict ‘need to know’ basis.

How We Retain

We will not retain any of your information when it is no longer needed for any business or legal purposes. We will cease to retain your information as soon as it is reasonable to assume that the permitted purpose is no longer being served by their retention. We will dispose of or destroy such documents containing your information in a proper and secure manner.

Transfer of Personal Data

We generally do not transfer your personal data to countries outside of Singapore. However, if such a transfer is necessary, we will ensure it is conducted lawfully and will take appropriate measures to ensure that your personal data continues to receive protection standards that are at least comparable to those provided under the PDPA.

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a breach security leading to accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure of, or access to, personal data, we shall promptly assess the impact and once assessed that it is a notifiable data breach, we shall report this breach within 3 calendar days to the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC). We will notify you when the data breach is likely to result in significant harm to you after our notification to PDPC. We may also notify other relevant regulatory agencies, where required.

If we act as a Data Intermediary, we will promptly notify the relevant Data Controller of any data breach without undue delay, enabling them to assess the impact and fulfil their data breach notification obligations promptly.
